Theme of late/always:

When you're back in your old neighborhood
The cigarettes taste so good
But you're so misunderstood
You're so misunderstood
There's something there that you can't find
Honest when you're telling a lie
You hurt her but you don't know why
You love her but you don't know why
Short on long term goals
There's a party there that we ought to go to
If you still love rock and roll
Do you still love rock and roll?
It's only a quarter to three
Reflecting off your C.D.
You're looking at a picture of me
You're staring at a picture of me
Take the guitar player for a ride
‘Cause he ain't never been satisfied
He thinks he owes some kind of debt
Be years before he gets over it
There's a fortune inside your head
All you touch turns to lead
You think you might just crawl back in bed
With the fortune inside your head
You know you're just a mama's boy
Positively unemployed
So misunderstood
So misunderstood
I know you've got a God-shaped hole
Bleeding out your heart full of soul
So misunderstood
So misunderstood
So misunderstood
So misunderstood
I'd like to thank you all for nothing
I'd like to thank you all for nothing at all
I'd like to thank you all for nothing
Nothing
Nothing
Nothing
Nothing
Nothing at all
Nothing
Nothing
Nothing
Nothing at all

Out with the old...

...in with the artists, punks and bicycle messengers.

Bad scene....

No one's fault, really...

POETRY IN MOTION (AND IN CAPS)

I COULD WHILE AWAY THE HOURS
AND SPEND A LOT OF DOLLARS
NOT KNOWING WHY OR WHEN.
YES I COULD BE A SAILOR
I COULD BE A 'STARBOARD' HAILER
IF I HAD A TARTAN 10.
I WOULD MEMORIZE THE POLARS
GO SURFIN' DOWN THE ROLLERS
NO ONE WOULD PASS ME THEN.
I'D THANK SPARKMAN & STEPHENS
FOR THE WAKE THAT I'D BE LEAVIN'
IF I HAD A TARTAN 10.
OH I COULD TELL YOU WHY
YOU START AT BOAT OR PIN
I COULD DREAM OF ALL THE
RACES I COULD WIN
IF I JUST TACK JIBE AND TACK
I WOULD NOT BE CHASIN' BIRDIE
SAIL THE WORLD BEFORE I'M 30
LIKE COLUMBUS AND HIS MEN.
I COULD SAIL TO THE HORIZON
THAT I ALWAYS HAD MY EYES ON
IF I HAD A TARTAN 10.

Whatever you say...

I am a lot of things: I am always thinking. I am forever attempting to balance on the top of a very small platform. I am working to weather. I am dweller. I am forever evolving -- or trying to. I am growing acceptant of all the things I can’t go back and become better fit for. I am painfully aware of my own, and all, clichés. I am ready for cyclocross.

what i've got and whatnot

i've got the legs but not the lungs
i've got the desire but not the discipline
i've got the balls but not the brains
i've got the want but not the will
i've got a case but not a care

(don't) forget about me in the summer (teeth)

i've only sailed on a few different boats, but the best named one was 'escape.' that embodies the nature of the pursuit 100% not everyone is so comfortable going about their day-to-day that that they can put pieces of life together to form something that makes everything ok. Even those who can, on varying levels, often have the hardest time getting by.

Logic dictates that one should face problems head-on. It is quite an effective solution. Yet, it is often nearly impossible. The genesis of conflict also needs to be taken into consideration. A lot of people have to ask ‘why is it there?’ but don’t. And there are many reasons -- none any better than others in my book – that never happens. One simple answer is: love.

The best solution to a problem might just be to create something new – make a replacement entity for it... Make a square peg that magically fits in that round hole. Make music. Make me disappear. See you in the fall.

RIP Jay Bennett.
